The Photographer's Vision:

E.A. Kahane has focused on capturing joy, life, and her surroundings through photography and photographic installations. Her process of taking pictures has led to a diverse body of work ranging from portraits to landscape, still-lifes to celebrations. The documentation of particular events, such as the Saint Patrick's Day Parade or the Mille Miglia race in Italy, are experiences that she captures two-dimensionally and then through the power of exhibition and environment, transports the experience she had to the viewer. What was collective engagement becomes personal, then collective once again.
After recording life through her photographic practice for several decades, the last several years have opened up an exploratory chasm and Kahane has incorporated sculpture, wallpaper, and even furniture in her recent exhibitions. Her exhibition, Front Row Seat, offers a look into the Mille Miglia Race that occurred in Italy, summer 2021. Kahane, and her family own several classic cars, and both her husband and son were part of the Mille Miglia Race. While they raced, she spent her time taking photographs of other participants, cars, and spectators who came out to watch the cars drive by in the multi-city race. From her Front Row Seat, Kahane was able to take intimate photographs and the exhibition is a rare treat for fans of the race and those who are just discovering it, to enjoy the ride!
